The lamps that are on this page are not just Tiffany Style.
There is a very big difference in Stained Glass Lamps.
Each piece in the lamps shown above are made in the USA,
and in each lamp the glass was specificaly cut for the shading
of the flowers. Glass would be wasted at times in a sheet to actually
get the right feel and shading for a specific flower or leaf for the lamp.
They are actual reproductions of TIFFANY's lamps.
There are several books that show the original lamps
designed by Tiffany and created by his company. You will find each one
of these lamps listed in the books and a variety of pictures
of them. Tiffany was very critical and particular during the process.
All of these lamps are made with the copper foil method,
created and invented by Tiffany.
There are also reinforcement bars built into the lamps during
the period of construction for strength and durability.
All lamps were made on authentic molds purchased from the
Paul Crist company in California. The glass was cut to patterns
and then attached with wax on the mold til completion.
Then soldered and melted off the mold a variety of different
ways depending on the lamp. Then, the inside of the lamp would
be soldered. Then, a tedius procedure of fine tuning the solder
and then the process of cleaning any wax remaining would begin.
In the cabinet section of the site, you will see the Poppy Lamp hanging.
This lamp was created for home shows for exhibition.
But a client of the House of Glass used it for her central focus in the
kitchen. You will see that we made matching kitchen cabinet doors
within the color scheme. After we made the panels, the client took
samples of the glass and copies of the pattern to a custom tile company.
They then made a matching tiles for her kitchen in the same colors and
as her cabinet doors and lamp! (Be sure to stop by that area)
